In the second month of the year 1979, a champion in different sporting activities was born. This great sport man was born in Brazil. Vitor Ribeiro, who was also called Shaolin, is retired mixed martial artist. Lightweight division is the field in which he commenced his career. He professionally competed for; Shooto, DREAM, Cage Force, world fighting Alliance, K-1 HEROS and also cage range. Ribeiro won various titles including Shooto World Light Weight and Cage Rage Lightweight.

His name became known in different parts of world immediately he commenced participating in mixed martial arts. His name was not known only because he took part in these sports, but because he performed excellently. He is actually, one of the best grapplers in Mixed Martial Arts. Ribeiro is also known by the name Shaolin. His fellow training partners started calling him this name while was training at BJJ.

The man was only 14 years when he commenced his career. Shaolin joined gym after fighting with another kid while in school. The anger of being beaten by the kid triggered him to commence attending gym. In fact, he commenced going to a gym only a few weeks after fight. His talent was discovered immediately he stated taking part in competitions. By the time he was 17 years old, he had won world championships. He was then placed second in the nationals and also in Pan Ams.

This ability of defeating adults, confirmed that he was actually a very talented young man. His coaches and mentors worked tirelessly hard so as to make him great in mixed martial arts. His winning spirit was boosted after winning black belt when he was 18. Spectacular performance made him shine greatly while participating in Brazilian Nationals.

Within lightweight division, Shaolin shone greatly. He won three world champions continuously. This indeed, amazed the people all over the world. These sterling performances were realized in 1999, 2001 and in 2000. After winning championship that took part in 2001, Shaolin changed to a new field MMA. While in this new field his efforts were fruitful. He became successful in events he took part in. In addition to that, his wrestling skills were boosted abundantly.

Shaolin announced his retirement from mixed martial arts in 2013. However, he did not end it all there since he resumed other roles. He became a professional referee in mixed martial arts in 2015. As referee, his experience in the field made him very successful. His excellent skills as a referee have been exuded in the past events that he acted as a referee.

In this world of competition achievements do not come with ease. One needs to remain committed throughout the undertaking for betterment. Shaolin was able to perform greatly owing to the fact that he remained dedicated and committed. It is important for young people to emulate character of Shaolin for their own good.

Perseverance is another trait that made shaolin successful in his career. He was not a man who could give up with ease. He remained focused until the end of the competition. His confidence and determination also played an important role in ensuring that he won most of the events that he took part in. The achievements of this man are well known within the City Mountainside, NJ.
